Congressional leaders bend to their supporters, while intent on advancing their own interests. Nagging suspicions, however, call to question whether more leadership and assertive actions are needed. Killings punctuate the corporate conspiracy, and Russia moves to take matters into its own hands. Manny, Sophia and Jim wrestle with internal demons in a toxic environment of secrecy, fear, deception, kidnapping, and murder.

The author deals with a subject much in need of discussion. Even though it is a work of fiction, the topic is one of that should be in the forefront of discussion. Naomi Klein said in her most recent book that a habitable world and the present form of capitalism cannot co-exist. The question then becomes what can we expect from big oil,gas and coal when the general public finally realizes we have to change our basic life style. So far, the business giants have been simply paying off politicians and pacifying the public with clever P.R. But what happens when their gigantic profits are threatened? Don't think for a minute they will just fade quietly into the night. That is what Rauh deals with in this book. It is well written and certainly not beyond the realm of possibility. If you like high tech suspense, this is the read for you.

Rauh leads you on a journey where good smart people have to outwit greedy ones. Can't wait to read his next one!
Media stories give us similar information on the physical impacts of climate change. Rauh also includes impacts on societies and governments. Currently, the Syrian refugee crisis raises many humanitarian and social issues. Yet the number of Syrian refugees is a fraction of the potential climate change refugees. Thought provoking!
